Clair de lune from scratch: Piano Lesson #16.2, Basics of Pedaling, Part 2

Clair de lune from scratch: Piano Lesson #16.2, Basics of Pedaling, Part 2 Video Clips. Duration : 7.40 Mins.

Please visit PianoFromScratch.com toview all of the lessons and download the sheet music. We now show a suggested pedaling for the first page of Clair de lune, using special symbols to indicate when to press, hold, and lift or "change" the pedal. I also talk briefly about some of the technologies I use that dramatically enhance my teaching and playing capabilities, including Home Concert Xtreme, the Wacom Bamboo graphics tablet for drawing digital ink, and an AirTurn ( http ), which is a wireless transmitter connected to a foot pedal that allows me to turn "pages" of digital music without the need for my hands to leave the keyboard. We talk about the need to remember "UP/down" (emphasis on "UP") as a technique for making sure the pedal connects with the notes played in the hands correctly, and how proper pedaling can actually make "legato" or "smooth playing" easier to do with far less tension. You can download a PDF of the score as part of the Suite Bergamasque from IMSLP.org here: imslp.org You can also download the MusicReader version of Clair de lune itself here: airturn.com MusicReader is a program that gives you the ability to annotate your score with digital ink, just like I do on these lesson videos.
